Our Mission

Stable housing is the foundation of every other healing.

Major House Services is a mission-driven, for-profit residence providing safe, sober transitional housing for men and women in Detroit, aligned with MHSDA and NARR recovery-residence standards. Our Englewood Home is a men's residence opening this July, with a women's residence opening soon. We believe housing is more than shelter — it's the quiet, daily ground on which a life is rebuilt.

What we provide

Private bedrooms in a fully renovated home, shared common areas, and a recovery-supportive environment. Residents have stability, privacy, and peers who understand the road ahead.

How we operate

Our homes are operated in alignment with MHSDA (Michigan House of Sober Dwelling Association) principles and NARR (National Alliance for Recovery Residences) standards — emphasizing safety, peer support, and dignified community living.

Who we work with

We partner with VA case workers, HUD-VASH, shelters, recovery programs, and faith and civic organizations. Referrals are reviewed with care and confidentiality.

What we believe

Every person deserves a door that locks behind them, a bed that belongs to them, and a community that believes in what they're becoming.

Our standards of care

MHSDA

We support the Michigan House of Sober Dwelling Association's call for safe, dignified, and accountable sober living environments across the state.

NARR

Our home is operated with NARR's four-domain framework in mind: administrative integrity, quality residence, recovery support, and good neighbor practices.
